Collaborative Coaching

with Danielle Lindgren

Helping parents of autistic children embrace neurodiversity, understand a new diagnosis, and make decisions about their child’s care, therapy, and education.

Welcome!

My mission is to offer trusted and specialized guidance to families who are navigating the world of autism. Diagnostic reports can list an incredible number of recommendations, and an internet search can yield several more from speech therapy to occupational therapy to music therapy to ABA, and the list goes on. It can be challenging to know what your child ACTUALLY needs!

Through a collaborative team approach, I help parents understand their child’s diagnosis, identify which therapies will work the best for them, learn strategies for supporting their child at home, and connect all the moving pieces to create a cohesive plan that will support their child.

Coaching and liaison services are accessible anywhere through a virtual service delivery model.

Resources & Community Connections

Each child is an individual, but parents are often given “one size fits all” recommendations for autism. I support parents by describing the way their child’s brain works, detailing unique areas of need/strength, and explaining the potential role of each therapy. I also help parents gain the skills and confidence to support their child at home and in the community. Autistic children don’t need every therapeutic option available—they just need the right ones, along with parents who understand what they need to be successful.

Nothing in a child’s life happens in isolation, but professionals face many barriers when it comes to collaborating on a care team. I help ensure there are no gaps in the goals or skills being worked on between everyone on the team, including those who do not specialize in autism. My collaborative liaison services range from observing therapy sessions to aligning therapy goals and approaches across professionals. I am dedicated to helping everyone on the team get on the same page, prioritize the family’s goals and support one another with complementary care.

Best practice for serving autistic children has dramatically shifted over the past few years. Sorting through the endless options and opinions online can be overwhelming, time-consuming, and even misleading. I offer the most up-to-date resources based on recent research, clinical advancements, and autistic perspectives. As I get to know a family and their areas of need, I work to provide educational and functional resources that align with their child’s goals. I also help parents connect with valuable community resources and support systems.

"When we got my son's autism diagnosis I was filled with fear. Not because I didn't believe my son was capable or wouldn't be able to contribute to this world in a valuable way, but because I suddenly was in the position to be making decisions that were in his best interest, but with complex knowledge, I didn't have. I was so anxious and scared to make decisions just after a furry of reading and trying to understand and even sometimes reading conflicting recommendations - knowing very well that's the kind of headspace you don't want to be in when making meaningful decisions. Danielle was there to discuss, bring clarity and point out the most impactful pieces to understand. She helped me feel confident in what I was looking for with my unique son in mind and highlighted what questions to ask to ensure he was getting the care and inclusive attention he needed. I am so much more knowledgeable, prepared, confident, and clear-headed thanks to Danielle."
